The film itself is a remake of the classic 1941 horror film of the same name, and stars Benicio Del Toro as Shakespearean actor Robert Talbot who, after returning home to Victorian London for the funeral of his brother, is attacked and bitten by a mysterious wolf-like creature.

I've just recently seen the Original 1941 film "The Wolfman" with Lon Chaney Jr. Now, I'm an avid music collector and after hearing the score in the film knew I wanted to hear it without the film. It was originally set to be a moody, gothic horror directed by Mark Romanek, a well known music video director, with practical effects by Rick Baker. Baker said they were the best work he'd ever done and that his transformation scene would have topped what he did in American Werewolf in London. Then studio, however, kept meddling, demanding that the movie be rewritten to have more big action scenes and less suspense and horror--basically the same stuff they just did again to screw up The Mummy a decade later. That meddling pushed Romanek out after everyone had been cast and all the sets and costumes were ready.

It didn't help studios demanded he use the name Lon Chaney Jr as opposed to his real name Creighton also made folk think he was just a drunk who cashed in on his father's name.New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castR/HORROR, known as Dreadit by our subscribers is the premier horror entertainment community on Reddit. It's such a nice contrast while a lot of entries in the genre think even as humans, werewolves should be fearsome and tribal. It is awesome. My memory vs what the actual film was much worse than I remember. The remake should have been much more than it was. I believe it's in Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man and the follow up movies where they say one of his victim's jugular vein is severed or ripped out.

The dreamlike atmospheres and elaborate settings combined with a chilling musical score make The Wolf Man a masterpiece not only of the genre, but for all time! The original horror classic that introduced one of the screen's most infamous monsters! Is there any place I can find a soundtrack or anything of the sort for either purchase or download. On a Friday night or during school holidays I was sometimes allowed to stay up late when the BBC would run double horror features. It's inspired so many werewolf movies since. The dreamlike atmospheres and elaborate settings combined with a chilling musical score make The Wolf Man a masterpiece not only of the genre, but for all time! That means that Curt Siodmak had to create the entire world from whole cloth, so all the of the "traditional" werewolf lore (the curse, becoming a werewolf from a bite, silver bullets, full moon, wolfsbane, etc.) Watching that film inspired me to sculpt him!I think it's a film that did well putting Lon Chaney's innate dopiness to work in it's juxtaposition with his frightfulness as the Wolfman. We'd often get one of the Universal films and a Hammer with Christopher Lee. A handsomely told tale with an affecting performance from Lon Chaney, Jr., Johnston got stuck using Romanek's sets and casting choices, but he had a very different sensibility. It's kind of amazing that it wound up being as watchable as it was considering what was going on behind the scenes.Love tough little Maria Ouspenskya as the old gypsy woman Maleva who intones:These are the horror films I cut my teeth on at the age of 9 or 10. One fateful night, Talbot escorts her to a local carnival where Jenny's fate is revealed by a mysterious gypsy fortune teller. ‎Watch trailers, read customer and critic reviews, and buy The Wolf Man (1941) directed by George Waggner for $14.99.

The Wolf Man (1941) and Frankenstein (1931) use the exact same soundtrack.Yeah Universal frequently recycled the same soundtrack's. Ten spolu s filmy Drákula (1931), Frankenstein (1931), Mumie (1932), Neviditelný muž (1933) a Netvor z Černé laguny (1954) náleží mezi klasické fantastické filmy, jež produkovalo studio Universal. Really cracking stuff.Wolfman is awesome! For the best experience please update your browser. Especially the makeup and lighting.I've got to get around to seeing this! https://anchor.fm/app. Gore was not allowed, much less ripping living people apart onscreen like real wolves. As pointed out gore was not allowed in 1941 sadly.
