I'd easily have given it a 7/8 as to me this is easily one of the best local multiplayer games on Switch right now.I played the demo and really enjoyed it.If it wasn't for the fact my backlog is big enough already and there are even better games coming out I would of already bought it..I really enjoyed this game and don't personally agree with the score, thank goodness for the demo. There isn’t much in the way of puzzles, something that could have really helped make the single player more interesting and the multiplayer more cooperative.

However, it is nice that if a player gets stuck in a level the option is there to go online and work together with a second person.That said, playing in either the offline or online multiplayer sessions is the way to go. Spelunker, the Weakest Action Hero is now on Nintendo Switch. I had fun playing the Japanese demo with my sister but right now, I'm just waiting for Odyssey.Anyone who has never played the original Spelunker (back when it was relevant in gaming) or at the very least watched the various parodies and memes involving it, really has no business approaching this title and trying to rate it.

Of course it won't be for everybody, you need to have some sort of love for the punishing original game sin the series to "get it" I reckon.I wish People here would stop talking about Spelunky all Day.I might give Spelunky another go if it ever arrives on Switch, but i think Spelunker Party is a way better Game.My kiddos and I enjoyed the demo. convince me to get this game if it ever hits the retail stores.I nearly bought this from Japan, I waited and am glad I got it now and didn't wait longer. are totally my jam in something like Monster Hunter.It would help if it was more gracious and you didn't die so easily by falling / jumping at a slight height difference from the landing point, because of that I'd say it probably will have less enjoyment if you or your group of friends get frustrated easily.If not, from the demo it seemed like a fun little co-op game, with the easy deaths having potential to be seen as comedic, particularly if the group is all rushing to complete the goal.The main gripe I felt I saw during the demo was just screen space, it looks like it could be difficult to see on split screen, and sometimes the the View looked like it was smaller than it could've or needed to be (with fewer players). You’ll find yourself kicking the bucket quite often, but a lot of that is unfortunately due to unreasonable platforming rules.
Instead, players are forced to go to the quests menu to see if it was completed, then the next quest needs to be manually selected in order for it to be worked on.The Switch could always use another multiplayer game and Spelunker Party! If it's ever cheap on the eShop, between £5-10, I'd give it a pop.
