This course covers all of the essential aspects of preparing, bathing and drying of all breeds and coat types, as well as the health and safety and animal welfare required in a grooming salon. Many members of the teaching team are also actively involved in caring for animals and ensuring their welfare.The levels allow you to progress as far as you need. I like the handling lessons most, where we are 'hands-on' with the animals, but I also find the lessons on animal behaviour very interesting. If you’re aged 16-18 years old English and maths will be a vital part of your study programme. For some very practical subjects you'll need to start at level 1 to ensure you learn the key theory, practical knowledge and health and safety standards for your industry. You will study both subjects at a level, which is appropriate to you.
