The communes inspired several spinoffs, including the Free Farm in Putney, intended as a place where anyone could grow their food. The movie combines footage from 1967 and 2005 of a hippie boy, Sean, who fascinated Arlyck when he lived in San Francisco. The Hippie movement started in San Francisco, California and spread across the United States, through Canada, and into parts of Europe.
