Like most resorts, this one has a hold for incidentals for the room, which was fine however, I was not informed of this $500 hold upon check-in which was irritating. It is a beautiful facility. Hurry and get to this place before it becomes crowded and too expensive. The rooms have a beautiful rustic decor, very high ceilings, large bathroom with an extra large shower. Even if it was, c'mon!!!!! They have the thermostat hard set to no lower then 67 degrees and the temperature hovers at almost 68-69 degrees Fahrenheit. [Athletic Club] Members, summer is coming quick!
Only other issue we had was that we like the room to be cold at night and the temperature gauge would not let us lower it and there was no fan in the room so it was very stuffy. The bed was so uncomfortable that my partner went down and slept in the car. When complained they blamed Expedia and wanted to seriously up charge me! Cute place, bummer about that bed.We booked an executive king suite at The Lodge for our wedding. When we arrived, the bellman came running out asking if we needed help with our luggage and told us we will probably get a room over looking the parking lot. I stayed in the suite with a balcony overlooking the golf course. I'd recommend this to anyone. They could careless about how they make you feel and it's sad!! She spoke to me like I was an idiot about the "social distancing rule" and how it was related to why the guests had to make an appointment for the lap pool which they canceled anyway.This was never conveyed to me by the lodge before I arrived.
