It’s practically non-existent, we couldn’t find it and the trail boss said it’s really hard to find and not worth seeing.

Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. Quite a few good looking isolated camping spots the further down you go with swimming and fishing points all down the river. I only saw 4 people on the trail at the beginning. Trails a bit overgrown in areas but it's probably been less traveled lately. Definitely make sure you hit kings creek fall while you’re there it was the highlight to the trip.The trail is lovely and not too difficult. the trail goes alongside the river the whole way and is beautiful! Water was great for swimming. It was a perfect first backpack trip for my 10 year old. Trail itself runs along the Chatooga and there are about 6 dispersed camping sites Allen g it’s banks. I will be back in the summertime for some swimming.This trail section was moderately difficult. Section 4 might be a little rough for smaller kids. Nevertheless, it's a fun river. Didn't go all the way to Lick Log Falls.Came in from Burrells Ford campground and set up camp there, walked along the trail for 4-ish miles and turned around to come back after my silly friend fell into the river (he caught himself and was fine). At the start of the trail, there are places to swim. The Chattooga is the best of the three if you have experience. In the western part of the district are the headwaters of the Chattahoochee River and the Upper Chattahoochee River Campground. Terrain ranges from the Piedmont in the southern part of the district to Georgia's second highest mountain, Rabun Bald at 4,696 feet above sea level. Chattooga River Trail: the hike. Overall not difficult, would be good for all skill levels.The trail was in overall great shape. Seeing otters playing in the river while eating breakfast.I only got a few miles in, but I had kids. Several campsites located along the river. Would recommend it for those looking to get away from the crowded North Georgia areas.Great trail with scenic views. Probably not after a rain next time as that made it more challenging.There are some well established camp sites right at the beginning of the trail, once I got past those it was complete solitude. The Appalachian National Scenic Trail passes through the district. Only did 8 miles and back.
A few trees had fallen along the trail, but they were easy enough to step over or crawl under. I camped here once before and loved it.Camped 2 nights on the river.
