There is really no other way for me to express what this movie is than this: A disaster movie where the only real disaster is the movie itself. The bad thing however is that the films they show are consistently bad and QUANTUM APOCALYPSE is typical of stuff they show . The special effects were extremely good, a bit brief but they served the movie as well. Was this review helpful? My wish for the new year is that the Sy-Fy Channel take some of it's money to purchase some old TV series, or create some new ones, and run them instead of giving us crap like this movie.
Relative to other Skiffy flicks, I'd actually give this a 9. tv movie science fiction.

I saw this movie with no particular expectations, and that was a good thing, because I would have been sorely disappointed. Was this review helpful? A group of talented but rebellious 'rock-star scientists' find themselves in a race against time to save Earth when a comet makes an unexpected turn towards our blue planet where all life may cease to exist within days if our small town heroes fail to find a solution. I'll say one good thing about the Sci-Fi Channel - It's very consistent . I like great movies but time to time I enjoy bad ones, even the movies that are UBER-BAD, in "so bad that it's good" sense.

The unlikely hero was a nice touch to the story. 8 Armageddon.
The subplot had my imagination thinking of future ideas for sci-fi movies.
I've seen quite a bit of them. This is a very good late night flick to cozy up and watch with someone. That is save for a savant uncle, who is Rain Man square... I give it a lot of credit for that subtle surprise. Scyfy originals are never going to meet critical acclaim but often they hold a certain charm about them that makes them watchable in that dumb viewing type of way. Who is actually quite good, and believable. Either that or take the money it spends on any 5 of these films, put it all together, and try to make at least one decent film. When a comet changes its route and collides on Earth, the scientists discover that an anomaly is the cause and they bring two geniuses to join their team in the research.
